As per the report of The Technical Group by the National Commission, The population of Rajasthan is projected to be 81,316,000 or 81.3 million or 8.13 crores as of July 1, 2023. Rajasthan is the 6th most populous state in india. Rajasthan’s population is projected to reach 9.08 cr in 2036.
The size of the population of Rajasthan is equivalent to Germany, the 19th most populous country in the world. Only one country in South America, two country in Europe, two country in North America and four countries in Africa have more people than Rajasthan.
In 2023, the sex ratio of the total population in Rajasthan is 105.364 males per 100 females. There are 41,720,000 or 41.7 million or 4.17 cr males and 39,596,000 or 39.6 million or 3.96 cr females in Rajasthan. Rajasthan has 2,124,000 or 2.12 mn more males than females.
Rajasthan accounts for 5.84 percent of the India population, that is highest since 1901. Population growth rate for 2023 is projected at 1.08 % with addition of 872 k more people.
According to the Census of India 2011, the population of the state of Rajasthan was 6.85 cr, increasing from 5.65 cr in 2001. There were 35,550,997 males and 32,997,440 females, with a sex ratio of 107.739 males per 100 females. The percentage decadal growth during 2001-2011 was 21.31%, 7.1% lower than 1991-2001 period. Population of Rajasthan had increased by 12.04 million during the decade 2001-2011.
Population of Rajasthan, which at the turn of the twentieth century, was around 10.29 million increased by approx 7.9 times in a period of 122 years to reach 81.3 million at 2023.
