In 2026, Uzbekistan is projected to have a slightly male-skewed sex ratio of 101.83 males per 100 females, meaning males marginally outnumber females. Based on its overall female-to-male ratio, Uzbekistan ranks 191st among 237 countries and territories worldwide and 33rd among 51 Asian entities. Uzbekistan is the only Central Asian country with a male surplus, while the other four Central Asian countries have more females than males. Its sex ratio is similar to those of Egypt, Afghanistan, and Mali.

Uzbekistan has 19,033,056 (19.03 million) males and 18,691,166 (18.69 million) females in 2026, resulting in a male surplus of approximately 342K people. Males account for 50.45% of the population, while females make up 49.55%. Uzbekistan has the 15th-largest male surplus in Asia and the 21st-largest worldwide.

In Uzbekistan, the male-to-female ratio increased from 91.95 males per 100 females in 1950 to above parity in 1987, when males began to outnumber females. The ratio continued to rise, reaching its peak in 2026. Uzbekistan's sex ratio is projected to remain above parity through 2100.

The sex ratio at birth in Uzbekistan is approximately 107.7 male births per 100 female births, which is somewhat above the typical biological range of around 103–107 male births per 100 female births. Historically, the ratio has remained relatively stable but at a slightly elevated level, fluctuating within a narrow range of 106.7 to 108.6 male births per 100 female births.

As of 2026, Uzbekistan has more males than females in age groups below 50 years. The 05–09 age group has the highest male-to-female ratio, with 107.87 males per 100 females. Among children under 15, the sex ratio stands at 107.58, while the working-age population (15–64) is also male-skewed, with 102.55 males per 100 females. However, the ratio declines sharply among those aged 65 and older, falling to 71.96 males for every 100 females. Among older adults, women substantially outnumber men, with females outnumbering males by about 4 to 1 in the 95–99 age group and by about 6 to 1 among centenarians.
