As per the report of the Technical Group by the National Commission, the population of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is projected to be 405,000, or 405k, or 4.04 lakh, as of July 1, 2025. Andaman and Nicobar Islands is the 3rd least populous union territory in India after Lakshadweep and Ladakh. Andaman and Nicobar Islands’s population is projected to reach 4.13 lakh in 2036.
The size of the population of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is equivalent to that of the Bahamas, the 178th most populous country in the world.
In 2025, the sex ratio of the total population in Andaman and the Nicobar Islands will be 110.938 males per 100 females. There are 213,000, or 213k, or 2.13 lakh, males and 192,000, or 191k, or 1.92 lakh, females in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Andaman and Nicobar Islands have 21,000, or 21k, more males than females.
The Andaman and Nicobar Islands account for 0.03 percent of the Indian population. The population growth rate in 2025 is projected at 0.25%, the second lowest among all states and UTs. Andaman and the Nicobar Islands will add 1,000 more people in 2025.
