As per the report of The Technical Group by the National Commission, The population of Haryana is projected to be 30,331,000 or 30.3 million or 3.03 crores as of July 1, 2023. Haryana is the 17th most populous state in india. Haryana’s population is projected to reach 3.46 cr in 2036.
The size of the population of Haryana is equivalent to Madagascar, the 50th most populous country in the world.
In 2023, the sex ratio of the total population in Haryana is 112.328 males per 100 females. There are 16,046,000 or 16.0 million or 1.60 cr males and 14,285,000 or 14.3 million or 1.43 cr females in Haryana. Haryana has 1,761,000 or 1.76 mn more males than females.
Haryana accounts for 2.18 percent of the India population, that is highest since 1901. Population growth rate for 2023 is projected at 1.21 % with addition of 364 k more people.
According to the Census of India 2011, the population of the state of Haryana was 2.54 cr, increasing from 2.11 cr in 2001. There were 13,494,734 males and 11,856,728 females, with a sex ratio of 113.815 males per 100 females. The percentage decadal growth during 2001-2011 was 19.90 %, 8.53 % less than 1991-2001 period. Population of Haryana had increased by 4.21 million during the decade 2001-2011.
