GDP of Sweden

According to the IMF World Economic Outlook (October 2025), Sweden's nominal GDP in 2025 is projected to be around $662 billion, $58 billion more than the $604 billion in 2024. In 2011, Sweden's nominal GDP was USD 571 billion, increasing by only a modest USD 91 billion over the past 14 years.

Since 2003, Sweden’s GDP has been overtaken by Turkey (2004), Indonesia (2009), Saudi Arabia (2010), Taiwan (2015), Poland (2018), Argentina (2022), Belgium (2022), and Ireland (2024). World Bank estimates have been available since 1960, when Sweden’s GDP was USD 16 billion.

The service sector accounts for approximately 66.43% of Sweden’s total GDP, while industry contributes around 21.69%, and agriculture makes up only about 1.42%.

In nominal terms, Sweden ranks as the 12th largest economy in Europe, contributing around 2.23% to the continent's total nominal GDP.
