GDP of Turkiye

According to the IMF World Economic Outlook (October 2025), Türkiye's nominal GDP in 2025 is projected to be around $1,565 billion, $207 billion more than the $1,358 billion in 2024. Türkiye's GDP, which stood at approximately $734 billion in 2020, has since more than doubled in nominal terms. Türkiye accounts for approximately 1.34% of global GDP, marking its highest share on record. By contrast, Türkiye’s share of the world economy reached its lowest level in 1988, at around 0.47%.

In 2023, Türkiye became the 19th national economy to enter the list of trillion-dollar economies. Türkiye is the 16th largest economy globally. Türkiye attained the highest rank of 16th in 2013 and the lowest of 30th in 1984. Since 2020, Türkiye has overtaken these four countries: Switzerland (2021), the Netherlands (2023), Saudi Arabia (2024), and Indonesia (2025). Estimates by the World Bank have been available since 1980, when the country's GDP was 7.57 billion USD.

Türkiye is in 5th position among Asian countries. Türkiye shares around 3.70% of the total of Asia's GDP (nominal).

In 2024, agriculture contributed 5.82 percent to GDP, while industry and services accounted for 25.50 percent and 57.52 percent respectively. With $79 billion, Türkiye is the 7th world's agricultural producers.

Based on PPP, Türkiye's economy in 2025 is projected at 3,767 billion international dollars, the 11th highest in the world. Türkiye contributes 1.80% of the entire world's GDP (PPP). Türkiye is the 5th largest and shares almost 3.66 percent of the total of Asia's GDP (PPP). The gross domestic product (GDP) of Türkiye at purchasing power parity (PPP) is 2.41 times the GDP at nominal.
