Brazil is the most populous country in Latin America and the Caribbean, followed by Mexico. These two countries have a total number of humans above 100 million. These two countries are home to 51.6% of the region's population. The top six countries together hold close to 76% of the Latin American and the Caribbean population. As of 2025, 14 countries have a population above 10 million. The least populous country in Latin America and the Caribbean is Saint Kitts and Nevis. The Falkland Islands is the least populous region in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Only one Latin American and the Caribbean country is on the list of the top ten most populous countries globally, as it hosts Brazil, the world's 7th most populous country. On the other hand, five countries are within the top 50 world population ranking.

Out of 50 countries/territories, the population of 37 would increase, and 13 countries would decrease in 2025. Mexico's population would increase by 1.1 million, followed by Brazil (779k). Cuba (-44k) is the top decliner, followed by Puerto Rico (-10k).

Caribbean Netherlands (Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba) would have the highest population growth rate of 1.99% in 2025. 14 countries/regions have a growth rate above 1%. Only one region is in the list of the world's top 50 fastest-growing nations. Saint Martin (the French part) would have the lowest population growth rate of -4.38%.

In 1950, Argentina was the 3rd most populous country on the continent, ahead of current 3rd ranker Colombia. Colombia will remain the 3rd most populous country on the continent.

Saint Kitts and Nevis will remain the least populous country until 2100.
