In 2024, the United States and China will remain the largest economies in nominal and PPP, respectively. Tuvalu would be the world's smallest economy in both methods. In exchange rate methods, the largest economy, the United States, represents an above quarter share (26.5%) of the global economy, while the smallest economy, Tuvalu contributes only 0.00007 percent. In PPP, the biggest economy, China shares 19.1% of the world, and the lowest-ranked Tuvalu shares 0.00003 percent.

In nominal data, nineteen economies would have a GDP above $1 trillion. Seventy-two would have an economy of above $100 billion. Venezuela is projected to move above $100 billion.

Out of 194 economies, GDP (nominal) of 173 economies would increase, and 21 economies would decrease in 2024 compared to 2023. With $1.45 tn, the United States will be the top contributor, followed by China ($515 bn), India ($322 bn), Türkiye ($214 bn), and the United Kingdom ($205 bn). The top five decliners would be Nigeria ($-164.1 bn), Japan ($-149.7 bn), Argentina ($-41.1 bn), Ethiopia ($-14.7 bn), and Egypt ($-13.8 bn). Guyana (+13) would climb most in the nominal ranking, followed by Haiti (+12), Kyrgyz Republic (+6), Colombia (+5), and Niger (+5). West Bank and Gaza (-21), Nigeria (-15), Lebanon (-10), and Sudan (-8) would lose most in the ranking.

In ppp data, 32 economies would have GDP above Int. $1 trillion. 101 economies would have an economy of greater than Int. $100 billion. Luxembourg and Georgia are projected to move above Int. $100 bn.

Out of 194 economies, GDP (ppp) of 185 economies would increase, and nine economies would decrease in 2024 compared to 2023. China (Int. $2531 bn), the United States (Int. $1447 bn), India (Int. $1400 bn), Russia (Int. $397 bn), and Indonesia (Int. $324 bn) would be the top gainers. Sudan (Int. $-28 bn), Argentina (Int. $-16 bn), West Bank and Gaza (Int. $-15 bn), Lebanon (Int. $-7 bn), and South Sudan (Int. $-4 bn) would be the top decliners. Guyana would improve its rank by 16 spots, followed by Macao SAR (+4), Niger (+4), Mauritius (+4), and Togo (+4). Lebanon (-11), West Bank and Gaza (-8), and South Sudan (-7) are the top decliners in the ppp ranking.
